Kim L’Heureux

Clay became Kim's passion in 1977, finding home and inspiration in the Butternut Valley of upstate NY. She is committed to the traditional process of ceramics: making clay and glazes from scratch, throwing pots on a kickwheel, and firing in reduction “flame” kilns. You might say she likes to “play with fire”.
Her work includes high-fired stoneware and salt-fired pottery, and low-fired rake and naked raku. The abstract etching of her recent work invites you to imagine being lost in the gardens and landscapes of upstate NY.
